Christmas markets in Innsbruck

Innsbruck offers not only one, but several Christmas markets (the first market opens on November 15th, 2018 the final one close on January 6h, 2019), and each of them is unique: either romantic and traditional, fashionable and modern or high above Innsbruck with a superb view. It is worth to visit all of them!

Old Town

The oldest and most traditional Christmas market is situated in the historical Old Town around the famous Golden Roof. It is a meeting point for local people and visitors from the whole world who enjoy the special atmosphere there. Some of the highlights are the fairytale alley and the brass players on the Golden Roof.

Maria-Theresien-Straße

This market in the most beautiful street of Innsbruck enchants its visitors with special light effects, glass and crystals. The modern market stands offer a vast range of Christmas items, handicraft and culinary delicacies.

Marktplatz

A Christmas market for the whole family: a children's zoo, Punch and Judy show and a lovely merry-go-round are highlights for all children. You can also find market stands with beautiful presents and all types of culinary delicacies. And in the middle of the market shines a wonderful sparkling Swarovski Christmas tree.

Hungerburg

This Christmas market is situated high above Innsbruck and offers a fabulous view on the city. You can go there from the city center with the "Hungerburgbahn" - and the ride is already a real highlight! After having visited the small and lovely market you can still take the cablecar up to the top of Hafelekar on 2.256 metres.

Wilten & St. Nikolaus

In the quarters of  Wilten and St. Nikolaus you will find small and romantical markets, sometimes with music and other Christmas activities.

Please book your room as early as possible, as especially all weekends before Christmas are very busy! We look forward to welcoming you!
