Christmas and New Year's Eve in Innsbruck

Christmas and New Year's celebrations in Innsbruck? Maybe the most beautiful period to visit our city. The Christmas markets are open, and the air smells sweet of roasted almonds and cinnamon. Whoever is still looking for a Christmas present will certainly find something suitable at the markets or in one of the lovely small shops.

On New Year’s Eve you have all possibilities: either you choose an elegant dinner in a restaurant or you celebrate dancing at the big party in Old Town or up on top of the mountains with an incredible view of the sea of lights in the city. At midnight you will have the chance to see the fabulous light and sound show directly in front of our hotel and the fireworks on the mountains above Innsbruck. A fantastic way to welcome the New Year!

Christmas Eve

In the afternoon of December 24, the Holy Evening, the city spreads a calm and festive atmosphere. This is the best opportunity to go for a stroll in the city with its narrow streets decorated for Christmas. At 5 pm a brass ensemble takes its place on the balcony of the Golden Roof and enchants the audience with contemplative classical music.

Late at night you have the opportunity to join one of the festive midnight masses (at 11 pm. at the church of Mariahilf next to our hotel or at 11:30 pm at St. Jacob’s cathedral)

After that the party is far away from over! At Innsbruck Congress Hall the largest indoor New Year's Eve party in Austria “Silvester beats” takes place and welcomes you to celebrate and dance until the early morning.
